Luck is a funny thing. Most people believe it is just that, luck. But the universe knows differently. It knows that what we call luck is the result of focused intention, an open mind, and a willingness to follow an envisioned path.

When I was twenty-three years old, I had the great honor of working as an assistant for John Schlesinger, the Academy Award–winning film director. When I landed that job, I thought, “I’m the luckiest girl in the world.” But that’s not telling the true story. This is.

  1. Richard Said,

Several years ago I applied for a great job. I work as a police officer and was trying to land a job as a probations officer. I had envisioned myself doing this job. I talked myself through the resume process. I told my several times before my interview that I already had the job and it was mine. The day of my interview came, I was prepared very well and new I already had the job. When I was in the interview I thought I was giving the worst interview I had EVER given. I thought I blew the job. The interviewer said it was the best interview she had ever had. She ranted and raved about how great of a probations officer I would be. She wanted me to me the higher ups right away. It completely spooked me. I was NOT prepared for her enthusiasm. I had attracted the job of my dreams and blew it. I did not take the job because of her enthusiasm. I was completely spooked. I never knew the universe could work so fast and so strongly. I know better now. When you ask for something from the universe be ready for the results because you WILL get what you asked for.

  2. Stephanie Said,

I couldn’t have written about this better myself! I’ve had a similar experience chasing after my own dreams with moving to Paris and it certainly feels as if I’ve been painting a few doors. I feel lucky, and after I got the opportunity I’d sweated over for months, it even felt too easy! But it takes a lot of dedication, an open mind and perseverance to have those doors finally open. Great piece!

  3. Barbara McGregor Said,

Help! I discovered Law of Attraction a couple of weeks ago and loved it so much I passed it on to a friend, with the intention of buying a couple more copies for myself. And now I can’t find it anywhere–it’s all sold out or hasn’t been heard of.

Would you please let me know where it is distributed in the Vancouver, British Columbia, area?

    Thanks very much.
